Remove sensitive PDF content
Understand cropping, black rectangles and permanent redaction before sharing a file.
Locate sensitive information
Check every page for names, account numbers and handwritten notes. Work on a copy and keep the original separately.
Mark the region
Open Redact PDF and select a page. Drag a rectangle that covers the full characters and their margins. The tool builds a new document from rendered pages, discarding original text and hidden objects.
Inspect the exported copy
Open the downloaded PDF and zoom in around the marked area. For additional regions, reopen the redacted copy. A crop or ordinary black drawing is a layout edit and can leave underlying content in the file.
